Since early 2014 I have worked in communications at the University of California, Davis with an emphasis on the arts and humanities. I work closely with faculty and staff of the music, theatre and dance, visual arts, design and other departments.
I develop and tell stories – in a number of ways – for distribution to the media, as well as for the university website and other outlets.
Before coming to California I was an independent media relations professional covering the arts and providing media relations services for several organizations. My compelling and comprehensive materials, my expertise in all arts disciplines and my many contacts enhanced and elevated these groups’ image.
I’ve created press releases, website and publication content, and social medial postings for ballet, visual arts and classical music organizations. I have also developed partnerships between various organizations for which I’ve work.
For much of my career I was an arts journalist writing features, reviews and news stories for newspapers, magazines and exhibition catalogs. I have also curated several site specific installation art exhibitions.
I have extensive knowledge of all the arts with particular strengths in the visual arts and contemporary classical music.
When I’m not looking at art and listening to music, I’m on the trail or in a kayak. Or just staring at the sky and hugging trees.
